Just a few thoughts on the state of this art that has a lot of creators worried.
This is a sub-branch extended from a larger blog set I have written laying out tips and advice for Onlyfans Creators, but also independent Escorts, Performers, Sex Workers and whoever else getting started in the Adult Entertainment Industry.
This advice comes from a Content & Brand Production & Marketing perspective. This is not about doing the job itself.
The core post can be found HERE.
If you are in the adult industry, on Onlyfans, and so on, then you now directly compete with AI.
But AI will never be the real thing, and that tangibility is what will ultimately win, and sooner than you expect. Quality-wise, even I am now having trouble telling the difference these days. It’s more a case of looking for the known limitations of AI and identifying through pattern recognition, rather than directly picking flaws. And it’s only going to get better still.
But the shelf-life of the AI fad I am seeing is freaken abysmal. AI channels and accounts have months of longevity at best. They spike and then dive, and that’s the best they can achieve.
But I am also seeing a distinct backlash from audiences against AI. You see it everywhere in fact. I have some pretty dorky interests, and follow YouTubers who focus on dorky content. I’ve seen a couple of times now where some lore channel that uses visuals and text in their videos, have begun using an AI voice to read the on screen text. But despite them actually making it easier for their content to be digestible, they still get backlash from their audience for using an AI voice. So the audience will literally rather make more effort and read the text, than have it read to them by AI.
This backlash against AI crosses a range of fields, and it’s very much happening in the adult industry as well. It will always be present, but this boom we’re seeing is merely a fad, it’s a gimmick, and audiences always eventually weigh back to what is real. Humans are tangible tactile creatures, and artificial over-production will never hold dominance for long. We’ve seen the same rejection in film, in music, in fashion, in everything.
Look into the phrase "Uncanny Valley".
The key for AI is to think of it as a tool, not a means. You use it not to create, but to 'enhance' what you create. You use it to take your 100% up to 150%.
Do not be threatened by AI. It simply cannot compete. It’s just another tool you can choose to use or not.
I’ve been asked a couple times now by opportunists whether I can create AI channels for them, so they can then make bundles off of my efforts. Regardless of whether I can do it or not, I say no because I am not interested in creating cheap empty fads. But I may or may not be conceptualising methods and strategies, and may or may not be experimenting with this and that… This may or may not lead to some service offering in the future for creators I personally find legit and with a style I click with. I’ll keep you posted.
